Vision Statement

To give students a good understanding of fitness, health and sport that gives them the confidence to take part in lifelong physical activity.

PE/Leisure at Weatherfield Academy

Primary: To support students in working towards the core,  basic skills that they will need and use in every activities that they encounter in later life.

 

To encourage the development of balance and gross motor skills.

 

 

Key Stage 3: To start to develop the use of teamwork and communication within lessons.

 

To help students to understand the basic rules of games based activities and their social and health benefits.

 

 

Key Stage 4 (Leisure): To give students the confidence to go and experience different sports within a public environment that is safe and conducive to promoting lifelong physical activity.

 

 

6th Form (Leisure): To give students the confidence to go and experience different sports within a public environment that is safe and conducive to promoting lifelong physical activity.  Students are supported in making sure that they can book an activity in a public place on their own.
