Personal and Social Devepment (PSD)
Vision Statement
Our aim is to give each student the opportunity to develop their confidence, personal skills and social skills inside and outside of the academy.
PSD at Weatherfield Academy
KS4
PSD is studied throughout years 10-14 in the classroom, around the academy and in our community by using different services. In KS4, we study the following units:

Environmental awareness

Personal safety in the home and community

Preparation for work

Making the most of leisure time

Working as part of a group

Community action

Parenting awareness

Developing self

Managing own money

Managing social relationships
KS5
Some of the units studied in years 10 and 11 may be continued in 6th form at a higher level. The units below are introduced in the sixth form:

Qualifications
The ASDAN course we follow leads to an award or certificate, which can be achieved from Entry Level 1 - Level 2.
