ADMISSION ARRANGEMENTS
Admission to the Academy is dependent upon completion of a statutory assessment resulting in an
Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). This identifies the education, health and care needs of the young
person. The paperwork is then judged by a Panel of SEND specialists overseen by the Central Bedfordshire
Assessment and Monitoring Team. Consideration is given to the child’s own needs and the needs of others
in the school and the potential impact upon them. The school aims not to exclude pupils from educational
experiences. Pupils will have a bespoke timetable with daily interventions in order to meet identified needs.
Funding to meet needs is through a place value of funding on an annual basis. This is ‘topped-up’ by the
Local Authority in order to meet specific needs. Transport to and from the Academy is arranged directly
with the Local Authorities Education Transport Team and is not the responsibility of the Academy.
