Grandparents Lunch a Great Success!

Thank you so much to all the grandparents (fifty nine this year!) who joined us for a delicious roast dinner on Wednesday 4th October. Sixth Form students conducted tours of the academy following the lunch and a wonderful, happy time was had by all.

Each year we hold Grandparents Lunch as well as Mother's Day Lunch and Father's Day Lunch. These occasions are always so successful and are a lovely way for us all to work together to support the children and young people as much as we can.

Here are some messages from grandparents that attended:

'It was a real treat to have lunch with my grandson at his new school. I was very impressed  with what the school has to offer and the staff were very welcoming. Hopefully future visits will be possible.'

'Really enjoyed our lunch with our Grandson Callum. Staff and pupils were very helpful. It was nice to have a tour of the school. Best wishes to everyone at the school.'

'This was my first Grandparents lunch & I enjoyed very much. The idea is great fun & a lovely experience. I wish it would have lasted longer as my 'old jack' go at a much slower pace than the younger ones! Thank you all & I look forward to the next time.'

Thank you so much to all involved, especially our excellent Kitchen Manager, Mrs Karen Bunker and her assistant, Wendy.

Sports Day Shenanigans

A sports day to remember.

Despite the heat of the day of the 4th July all participants put in an amazing effort to make Weatherfield Academy's Sports day a a huge success.

The Schools Long and high jump records looked in jeopardy early on in the day as the students were putting in sterling efforts in all of the field events.  I was particularly impressed with Ethan Day, Bradley Morris, Charlie Birch and Ben Wright. as their High jump final was a sight to behold.

The afternoon races continued to wow the huge crowd during the course of the afternoon with some of the efforts not leaving a dry eye in the house.

Thank you to all involved, a great day had by all.
