The student leadership scheme is for students who demonstrate the skills and qualities we would expect to see within leadership roles. Staff across the academy nominate these students to join the leadership scheme, allowing them to build and develop these skills further. All students within the school, from primary right up to 6th form, can participate in the scheme if nominated.

 

The scheme was developed by the academy and is made up of six different levels. Each level has a corresponding colour assigned to it. As the student progresses through the leadership levels, they receive a certificate of acknowledgement and a badge with the colour corresponding to their achieved level, which they can keep with them as they progress through the academy.

 

Once a student completes all six levels they are awarded a final certificate of achievement and a green leadership sweatshirt, this sweatshirt is to recognise the hard work they have put in, as well as making it easier for them to be identified as leadership mentors. As a leadership mentor, the students are given the opportunity to support the younger students on the scheme, allowing them to continue to build and develop these great leadership qualities.
