Online Safety

We value Computing at Weatherfield and encourage our children to experience different ways of accessing technology. From laptops and iPads through to bee-bots, our children are able to access a wealth of resources and explore different technologies to suit their learning styles and individual needs.

With all of the potential that the online world and new technology offer, young people now have access to huge opportunities. They use technology to express themselves, explore, and be creative; technology has changed the way they communicate. The Internet has changed all of our lives, and your child has grown up during this change. Many of the things that confuse, baffle, or even scare us are part of everyday life for them. For many of us, this can all be a bit too much.

Whether you’re a technology lover or hater, it’s still likely that you’ll be playing catch-up with the way your child is using the Internet. You might be wondering whether what they are doing is safe, and you might also be thinking about how you can watch out for them as well, in their online activities as you do in other areas of their life?

Through this blog, I will provide up to date and relevant links to support you and your families in the ever-changing world of technology.
